Poster idea 3
Looking at the last two designs i drew, i can see that they look similar in appearance so i have decided to create another design which has a different composition, image and colour to the other two.
the colour of the the main poster will either be black or white. black; because it will show the rock element and portray the genre of their music more then any other colour as the connotes the dark sort of mysterious element that rock music have.
white; because it simple nd plain which means that it the only thing that will be catching the targets audiences eye would be the star, the artists/the band. furthermore the white also connotes pure innocent ange

lic, which could connote the the three members of the band are like that.
behind the girls is a big circle which
is suppose to represent candy. i chose to do this because it helps illustrate and amplify the name of the album which automatically catch/ appeal to the audience. the bubblegum also represents that pop element that the song has; and because our target audience is both male and female i have decided to add bright, vibrant colours to attract the female side. the band members already appeal to the male audience and the girls are dressed in a way that they will be attracted to them.
the girls have been positioned clearly in seductive way compared to the other to designs that i have done. the composition is meant to connote hat the girls are people who like to have fun, are down to earth etc.
the typography i have tried to use is more like a handwriting font. i chose this because it looks more down to earth and simple which signifies the band members personality.
Overall i have tried to link everything with each other to give both that appeal to females and males. i have also tried to cross media promote through looking at the colours that the members where and the colours that have been used in the video, to the text/ font style that we are thinking of using in the digi pack.
poster design 2
this poster is portraying more of the rock element then the pop of the bands genre. in comparison the poster 3. the background is the stripy element taken from the video which is cross media promotion. To make it slightly different from each other i have decided
change the colour from white and red to black and red as it will show the rock and pop elements of the bands music genre. The girls are positioned yet again in a seductive way in order to attract the male gender of our audience. personally i don't like the positioning of this image however as a group we have decided to see how it will look if is was to be put together.

Worst Things
-no enthusiastic from the band when performing
-Stiff Performance

-The ending of the guitar too long
-That they need to see text of candy
-That we needed the change the last shots of the video
- Alot of smiling during performance which made it look unprofessional and that they weren't concentrating.
We experimented on green screen to see whether we could do some of the performance in green screen. After doing this we decided we weren't going to use it because we didn't like how it looked so it was decided that the background would be created by us instead of green screen because on green screen it didn't look mundane.

Today we went to search to find gummy bears for our video. We experimented on istop motion with the gummy bears. We did this to see if the scenes with the gummy bears would work the way we wanted to.
11/11/10
Today we were suppose to shoot the first scene (intertextuality to Britney Spears Video) for our video. However after we set up the set and changed into costume we realise that the camera wasn't working as we didnt have the right lead to plug it in. We realise by waiting to get the camera fixed we wasted some time, due to this there was some confusion of whether we were going to still record. So costume were changed out of so we ended up not filming on the day. There were some argument between group members but was resolved later on.

Today as a group we came together to produce a schedule in which days we were filming and the right props which will be needed on the day and also ensure that everyone in the group knows that we are filming as there was some miss communication before for the days we were going to film. We also started to create the background for the performance element to our video. We also collected the equipment we were going to need for the next day of shooting.
13/11/10
Today we shoot our bed scenes- the gummy bears coming out of the phone and marching out of the room which took some time. We also shoot the scene with the year book and the scene where she is in the straight jacket where she is surrounding by sweets. We did have some problems as we realise that the fire wire didn't work with the mac book so we had to use the isight from the mac book which didn't give it the quality we wanted and it wasn't the close up shots we wanted. After we finish shooting everything for the day and was looking at the footage we got we decided that the some of the scenes as to be done over again.
Roles for the Day
Kemsiha-actor
Zain-Cinematography
Shapali-Director

Today we filmed the classroom scene which is part of the narrative aspect of our music video. Shapali and Zain organised and set up the set as well as the equipment that was needed however we realised that the tripod wasn't working properly and at the same time the batteries were not fully chraged low due to the fact that everyone took equipment home to film for the weekend so we were not given enough time to recharge the batteries. To overcome these problem we decided to use a few different batteries until they ran out all together. we got two more tripods where we tried one but it didn't work as well as we moved on to the next one which wasn't quite good but it worked. Others changed into costume. As we started to film it was difficult to position the camera into the right angle and the movement but we got it after a couple of tries. We also had problem with the bubble gum that we boght as it wasn't the right kind gum which we could blow big bubbles out of. Futhermore the idea we had of a flick animation did not work as we couldnt get the pages to flick so as a group we decided to scratch that idea/ Due to no charged batteries we were finished for the day.
Roles for the Day
Kemisha-actor
Zain-cinematography
Shapali- Background character
16/11/10
Today we started too edit the all the footages we add to see what is working and what isn't. We also reshoot the gummy bear scene because the first ones didn't work. This is because the surface we did it on took the focus off the gummy bears so we decided to use a plain white sheet so the focus is on the gummy bear which means that we also have to reshoot the other scene which is linked to the gummy bears. We also decided to shoot the gummy bears from a different angle, instead of them marching from the camera they are marching towards the camera.
Roles for the Day
Kemisha-Helped with the shots of the gummy bear and the shot type needed (director)
Zain-Taking the shots of the gummy bears and editing
18/11/10
The straight jacket scene as to be re-film as well so we tried to do this today. It had to be re-filmed because again the background it was done on took the focus away from the main character. We decided to try and use green screen for this to try to make it look as if she is in an asylum to make it more realistic.
Roles for the Day
Kemisha- actor
Zain-Cinematagraphy, Playing music when needed.
Shapali-Cinematography

Today it was all about the performance scene to our video. We got the permission from the music department the day before for the music instruments we were going to do today. We also got permission from the performance department to use the activities hall to shoot the performance. One of the group members weren't feeling well so we were short with our cinematography group, we however managed to fill that position. We also had problem with the activities hall as we were told we could use it, but when we arrived it was being used, so we then decided to use the sports hall where we were lucky that a stage was already set up. We started to set up the stage to suit the way we wanted he scene to look. While one set up the stage the other set up the cameras and tri the pods and the lightings. We had problems with setting up the background as it wouldn't stick on the wall so we decided to use a different way of sticking it up which worked eventually. We also went to collect the instruments but the teacher wouldn't give us as they say that the person who asked for them will need to come for it which wasn't much of a problem. After we finished all this we started to film. What we learned today was that we should arrive before our artists so that when they arrived we would have already finished setting up and started filming.
Roles for the Day
Kemisha-Cinematography- in charge of the other two video cam which focuses on the drummer and the guitarist, collecting the equipments needed such as tri pods, camera etc.
Zain- Cinematography- in charge of the main video cam- focus on the whole band, setting up the background
Kemisha and Zain both director

We started of as a group composing different idea's for our digipack and also did some research on different digipacks to get an idea on how they are portrayed. We then shoot the scene where the girl is blowing the chewing gum which was abit complicated as it was difficult to restrict the background.
Different shots of the actor blowing the gum

Kemisha-Actor
Zain-director

Met to film the performance again but all the stages where not free so we had to cancel that. Started cutting out shots that we didn't think was useable in final cut.
02/12/10
Due to whether conditions Kemisha shapali and few of the band members didnt make it to the shoot and has now been rescheduled to happen tomorrow on the 3rd of december instead.
06/12/10
Kemisha done some research on posters to get an idea on how we would like to do ours.
Zain worked on the digipak while Shapali did some editing.
07/12/10
Today we planned to film some more shots for the straight jacket scene because the long shots don't work as they were too plain so we decided to add candies or chocolates to this scene. We also planned to film the lollipop head scene with Micheal as well but he didn't show up so that was cancelled. One of the group members couldn't make it so Zain and Kemisha filmed the house scene which went well as we manage to film our yearbook scene from different angles.
08/12/10
Photographs that shows what we did today
These we thought about using in our digipak

We decided to go with this one as it was more artistic.

20/01/11
Today we pitched our digipack to our groups.
Zains digipack
We decided that this was too cute and childish. it wouldn't appeal to the audience we are targeting.
Kemisha's Digipack
We decided to go with this digipack because its performance base and more grown up which more appeals more to our audience.
24/01/11
We decided what digipack we are going to use. We then started working on the digipack( Zain worked on the digpack and i gave him advice when needed) and poster in photoshop. We did however changed the image we were going to use fr the Album cover.
This is the 6 panel layout of which our digipack would be.
This is the first image that we decided was going to be on the first panel. Here Zain started to crop the things we didn't need in the image.
This is how the first panel looked after zain finished cropping and adding a flare to the background.
This was when zain added the second image to the last panel where we decided that this was going to be the tracklist. we also decided to add different colour to the girls lips so zain cropped out the colours of thier lips.
Here is when zain added the colours to the lips after deciding which colour worked best.
25/01/11
Today we continue working on the digipack and posters.
This is when Zain added the candy strip background to the panels.

Zain added the candy here in the first panel to see whether it worked or not. The candy was made also using photoshop.
Zain added the third image which took up the two panels.
Zain added the fourth image decided to use but we didnt like it so we decided to change it.
After deleting the image on the fourth panel Zain added a image to the second panel which would our cd cover.
we decided that we also didnt like this image of we added the twirl to it. We also realised that we already had too much image of the girls whch was becoming repetitive.
27/01/11
Continue working on Digipack and posters
After deleting the pic we didn't like we finally decided that we were going to use the pic of the guitar and the pic of them with thier shoes steeping down the twirl name. We also decided that the poster will be the same image as the album cover.
31/01/11
Today zain worked on photoshop to finish the digipack while i assisted him in making certain decisions on what should be in it. Shapali worked on the poster
